Dr. Joseph (or Dr. Joe) discovered his passion for dentistry while working at the University of Rochester in a microbiology lab. Not only does he greatly enjoy science and learning, but he also loves interacting with people. Dr. Joe’s attention to detail and ability to perfect his craft led him to the realization that dentistry is the ideal career for him.
After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery at SUNY Buffalo, he completed his post-doctoral Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Western New York Veterans Hospital – but he didn’t stop there. Dr. Joe went on to spend an additional year at the hospital, gaining advanced training with dental implants before eventually starting in private practice in 2014.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Joe is a huge sports fanatic. He spends his time cheering on the Sabres and the Bills, playing hockey at the Lakeshore Ice Arena, or exploring the outdoors with his high school sweetheart.
Dr. Katherine (or Dr. Katie) was born and raised in Fairport, NY. While working on her undergraduate in Psychology and Biology at SUNY Geneseo, she rode for the Varsity Equestrian team. From there, she went on to graduate from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Buffalo with a minor in esthetics.
After dental school, Dr. Katie completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the Western New York Veterans Hospital. During her time there, she specialized in working on comprehensive, full-mouth aesthetic rehabilitations.
Dr. Katie is passionate about helping others, especially those in need. In fact, she has traveled twice to the Dominican Republic on dental outreaches to provide quality dental care to underserved areas. On top of that, Dr. Katie is dedicated to continuing education, taking hours of courses every year to refine and grow her skill set.
When Dr. Katie isn’t at the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and dogs. Throughout the year, you can find her outdoors with Dr. Joe or horseback riding.
Everyone at the Vollo Dental Group is focused, kind, engaging, patient, and do a wonderful job of taking care of their patients. My entire family goes there, and they are especially patient with our children. They make the extra effort to provide a comfortable place for the kids to relax, and help remove the "scariness" of a visit to the dentist for the kids. Wonderful all around!

All you need to do is call the dentist’s office as soon as the injury occurs. This will allow the dental team to evaluate your situation over the phone and recommend the appropriate treatment time. If necessary, we will schedule a same-day appointment. We’ll also provide helpful at-home tips to help you manage your pain and situation until it is time to see a dentist.
Even if you think your injury doesn’t warrant a dental visit, it is always best to call us and let us decide the severity of your situation.
The average dental checkup and cleaning cost anywhere between $200 and $350 in the U.S. This is if you are uninsured. If you have dental insurance, you are encouraged to use it, as most plans will agree to cover these visits partially or in full (80-100%). Because preventive care is the basis of design for most dental insurance plans, you’ll find it helpful to use these benefits to your advantage. Not only because it makes it possible to receive treatment right away but also because they can reduce the chances of more serious issues later down the road.
Oftentimes, it is tempting to avoid the dentist if you don’t think you can afford treatment. However, you’ll quickly learn this is a bad idea. Not only will you likely suffer worsening oral health problems, but you’ll be stuck spending more time and money on improving your smile.
Instead of hoping your teeth and gums remain healthy and avoid decay or disease, apply for flexible financing through CareCredit. You can enroll in a payment plan that has low or no interest and better manage your budget.
